Colour
Definition & Theory
Colour is the property processed by an object of producing differnt sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or entires light.
Saturated colour =In technical terms, it is the expression of the bandwidth of light from a source. The term hue refers to the colour of the image itself, while saturation describes the intensity (purity) of that hue. When colour is fully saturated, the colour is considered in purest (truest) version.
Muted colour = When you take a colour tone, and you mix it with white or grey, it dulls it down to make the colour less. bright or in other words it makes it muted or mute.

Hue = The attribute of a colour by virtue of which it is discernible as red, green, etc and which is dependent on its dominate wavelenght and independent of intensity or lightness.
Complimentary = Complementary colours are the opposite to each other on the colour wheel, e.g. Blue-violet and yellow, represent colours positioned across from each other on the colour wheel.
Analogous= Colours are groups of three colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel, sharing a common colour, with one being the dominant colour, which tends to be a primary or secondary colour, and a tertiary. Red, orange, and red-orange are examples.
Colour meaning

Red = Love, anger, hot and danger
Orange = Happy, energetic, movement and social
Yellow = Cheerful, slow, bright and irritable
Green = Friendly, calming, natural and envy
Blue = Peaceful, cold, loyal and distance
Purple = Creative, relaxing, spiritual and surprise

Comparison

The picture on the left is by David LaChapelle. It uses compilmentary colours ,yellow and blue, which stand out. The bright colours give the image a happy feel. Yellow being bright and cheerful with blue being peaceful. The image by Nadav Kander gives of a sad mood due to the muted blue.
Research
William Eggleston
Eggleston takes inspiration from the everyday objects. He uses complimentary colours to make the image stand out. A lot of his work is from the 60s in America in which he started using colour widely in his work. His work is almost dream like with such bright complimentary colours. He uses angles to to made the image look ominous. Some of what I think is his best work is taken from a diner.

These photos were taken in the 60s and captures the feel of the age. The images depict a normal and relax day, with the acceptation of the photon the plane as thats not very day but it is still relaxed. Gained inspiration from the bright colours, the complepntary colours. I would of liked to capture the 60s but I feel that would be to hard and wouldn't produce enough photos.
Image Bank

I hope to get images similar to the once above.

The image of the coloured stars and stripes doesn't work as it's to dark. I took the picture at night. To improve this I would change the saturation and the lightness. If the lighting hadn't messed with the colour I would of put this with the best pictures. I will adjust it later to see if it can be improved.
The coloured patten has the wrong lighting so you can't see the true colour. If I were to change it I would change the saturation and lightness.
The picture of the kitchen has the wrong lighting as the light is coming in from the window. The image was inspirited by the 60s side of William Eggleston. To change it I would either retake the picture at a different time of day, take a different angle or change the saturation and/or lightness. I won't retake it as I don't think it works on its own or fits in with the over photos.
AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
My idea of photographing colour was to photograph complimentary colours as inspired from William Eggleston and to fill the picture with colour which is unlike Eggleston's work.
The best pictures
I like how the top image it is at an angle. The colours are also lovely as they are bright. The picture was inspired by the colour spectrum as it has lots of different colour.
The light painting was inspired by Robert Cartwright. I like how vibrant the colours are. This one was chosen oppose to the other light paintings as it has more evenly spread the colours then the overs.
The yellow flowers as the colours are analogous ,because the colours yellow and green are next to each other on the colour wheel, which makes them work well together. The angle also captures how colourful nature is. This image is also inspired by William Christenberry as it has to strong colours. The colour yellow makes you happy, so this image makes you happy. I will experiment with this idea of colours impacting emotions by seeing what will happen if the image is darkened.
I like how the house has ben taken over by nature. The shy in the background just cheers up the image by making the image that could of been dark look peaceful. The light also brings out the different hues of green. This was inspired by William Christen-berry which i found later into my research.

This images were taken on a iPad. If I were to reshoot this images I would use my Cannon rebel, which I got after taken this images. I would also use a tripod so images aren't blurry.
Photoshop
In photoshop I decided to brighten some images that had the wrong lighting. I also made one darker as an experiment.

You can adjust the hue, but I dissuaded this doesn't work as it gets rid of most of the colours

I frist changed the saturation, so the colours would stand out.

I then changed the lightness to make the image brighter.

It has made the image better but I won't be using it as a final image as it's fuzzy.
AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
I'm pleased with how the images turned out as I believe complementary colours were used althought not as much as I originally intended. I also think that my experiment of the flowers making them darker did work as it doesn't look as happy. Although I don't like the image, I would not use that as a final image. I would use the original or make it brighter.

Hello you are not finished on this post as there is little annotation you need to address this at the earliest possible opportunity. Finally your reference to William Christenberry's work is good but there are no reference images you will need to add to the research influences for this.. Finally the final series do not quite work together therefore it is recommended that you add to the series looking for other opportunities to create work inspired by Christenberry. Please complete the following and your work will be reviewed an upgraded..
