AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.

Images that require improvement

Shoot 1

In this top image the the flower pot isn't close enough so the colour isn't as noticeable.

This image is just a plain bush which is one colour. I want to get multiple colours or one very bold colour and this image isn't either go those.

Shoot 2

I find all the tags on the pineapple distracting and making the image less clear. To get around this I would buy 4-5 pineapples but I don't want to do that for 1 or to pictures at the most. However other then the tags its not that bad.

Shoot 3

I don't like most of my photos for this shoot but these to images some up the problems. This first is of sweets in an plastic box. It's bad as you can see the glair from the plastic. I have the same problem with over images so I brought some sweets that wouldn't have packaging to avoid this problem. However as seen in the second photo the lighting was wrong and ruined the second try as well. If I redo this shoot then I will do it in the studio.

Shoot 4

This image didn't work as it's to hard to see the light green in the skull. This would be avoided by being down in the studio.

In the second the skulls features can't be seen. If I redid this shoot it would be in a studio with a white background so it can be seen clearly and a white background would look better then a green one. The angle would be better to.

Shoot 5

This image dosen't have the hand as the focus as its on the side. Part of the finger has also been cut off. I should of positioned the shot before taking it.

The final image is so unclear as to what it is I can't remember what part it is. If the lighting was better this may have been avoided.

My idea for landscapes was take photographs around the town. I was inspired by Simon Roberts' images and to not take boring photos of the country. Most of the images tuned out as I expected.

With reference to the Best selected images

Shoot 1

This image is of flowers in a vase. I like the mix of colours seen in this image and the lighting is not perfect but can be fixed.

This image has a good mix of colours and is framed right. To make it better I will make the colours more vibrate.

Shoot 2

The next image of lemons in a cart have been inspired by William Eggleston as it has two bright analogous colours. This will be accentuated using photoshop.

The other is of light green apples in a purple box. This is also inspired by William Eggleston because of the two bright colours. It will also be made more vibrant on photoshop.

The last is of garlic and is a bit different to the overs as the colour isn't as bright. It also has three colours of white, light brown and purple. I will try to make the purple brighter by changing the saturation using photoshop.

Shoot 3

Out of the shoot these two are the better. The first has bright colours and less of a shadow then the overs. It also has a glair on the plate, which isn't good but it's one of the best of the shoot.

The other is of the alley in the store which focuses on the packing not so mush the sweets them selfs.

Shoot 4

This image shows the blue paint diluting thought the skull. This image shows the tone and form of both the skull and the blue paint. I like the blue of the paint and the green background because its similar to William Eggleston's use of two colours.

The backing light makes the blue in the skull stand out. For this image I will make the image brighter. That and the colour blue will make the skull less intimidating as blue means peaceful.

This image is similar to the first just with pink not blue. Instead of making this lighter, I will make it darker. This will make a odd message as pink is associated with love and that subject isn't normally dark.

Shoot 5

This image looks like a photo for a passport or ID the fact this it is not a person is both funny and creepy, this is the same for the sale on it's face to. If I make it darker then it will look scarier.

The angle the skeleton is in is seen more with female models perhaps for sex appeal on an advert . The use of the skeleton in this position is not normal so it makes the viewer uncomfortable which is my aim for this shoot.

This image of the skeletons hand is like the grim ripper putting his hand on your shoulder saying its time. I can make this creepier by turning the blue black.

AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.

The frist shoot was inspired by colour in nature. I don't think it went to well this is because I had a previous shoot that I accidentally deleted. This deleted shoot had a bigger range of flowers, equaling more colour. The lack of flowers wasn't the only problem but also the fact I didn't have a tripod to use.

The second shoot was of colour in fruit and veg. I used my phone as I was not allowed to take photos in the store and the camera was more obvious then a phone. Even thought I used a phone the photos still look good. I later used photoshop to make the fruit and veg stand out more

The next shoot is of sweets in a store. I took photos of sweets in they packages forgetting about the glare of the plastic. As this didn't turn out well I tried again with sweets that weren't  packaged but the lighting was wrong so these didn't turn that as expected either.

The fourth shoot is a mix of tone, form and colour. I had a clear skull glass with different colours of water colour paint slowly taking over the glass. I divided not to use a plain background at the time as I thought the two colours work of each other. Although if I did it again I would use a plain background and work in the studio. I also didn't use ink at the time as I wasn't sure it would work so I didn't want to buy ink, but how I know it will work I would buy ink to do this again.

The last shoot was a continuation of my work on form with a skeleton at different angles and of different parts of it. I did this in the studio with a tripod most of the time. I did this in the studio as I said I would if I were to do this again that I would to improve the quality, which it did.

AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.

I believe all my shoots except shoot 1 and 3 turned out very well. The final images were adjusted with saturation and lightness.
