Dadaism or Dada was a form of artistic anarchy born out of disgust for the social, political and cultural values of the time, the first world war. It embraced elements of art that means nothing.

Hannah hoch

The first the 'person' has one eye bigger then the over and the noise is to the left. The scissors are out of proportion and they is a postage stamp in the corner which makes you think it's a letter. The size of her head could show that she's big headed.

The bouquet of eyes is colourful like flowers and the eyes are different colours also.

Storm Thorgerson

Thorgerson often places objects out of their traditional context ofter with negative space to make the work feel awkward. His work blends reality making you wonder if what you are seeing is real or not. Thorgerson's work has been used on album covers, including the famous Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon cover.

The tree takes seeing different shapes in trees a step further by making a persons silhouette. I like how the first is like a mixed up Indiana Jones film. I wish to get similar final images to Thorgerson's work.

I made this and this is how

1. Frist select the outside duck with the quick selection tool on the left.
2.Then using the minus tool select the eye that was cut out.
3.Select inverse to select the duck instead of the background.

4.I copied the duck using command and C.
5.Then I pasted it which command and V.
6. Command and T to transform.
7.To move it use V and to create a mask to blend the duck in with river use the mask tool to the bottom right.
8.The mask is then printed on with the block.

The image of the ducks was taken on my iPhone 6S but the rest were on my Canon. All the image of the objects (e.g. lion, tic tac box, stationary...) that were added to the images of the town were taken in the studio using a soft box. The settings include F:22, shutter speed:1/125 and ISO 200. The two images on the road have both have the same settings F:3.5, shutter speed 1/20 and ISO 200. The over three images taken in the town all share the same settings F:8, shutter speed 1/160 and ISO 200. I don't want to blend the images as I want it to be very obvious that the object doesn't belong. It also looks a bit like it has been cut out like Hannah hooks work.

AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.

Hannah Hoch's work didn't inspire me although it helped me understand what dadaism is. Storm Thorgerson's work was my inspiration as I had two different images from two different environments. Both of are works are also very random which a bit of reality.

I believe I have produced a strong series of images based on Storm Thorgersons work. This topic is my favourite as I like abstract work. I hadn't thought about using photoshop in this way before and I will use it again.

AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.

I'm very pleased with how the following images have turned out as they are different just like dadaism should be.

To create these images I first to photos of the random objects in the studio. After this I took photos of random locations and matched the 2 images together that made some sense ,the toy WS camper and the cars, or ones that made no sense ,the stationary and the town. The technique with the rubber ducks from above was used to accomplish the the final images.
